Spring in Loughborough

Pictures taken on the 14th and 15th of April

The evening of 14th, I convinced Lynn that it was a great idea to hike in the woods
:P
She must have regretted it later because we set off before 6
and didn't get back til 930
hahahaaa
I took us through the fields, a circular round the woods, then back down Nanpantan and up Valley Road
But I'm proud to say I can now navigate the area quite well

the first dandelion seed head i'd ever seen!
(now there are thousands everywhere)

The entrance to the fields
I'm still bad at taking pictures in low light
Sigh..

New life springing up in the fields
Can you see the hills beyond?

Apple blossoms!
I'm very grateful that unlike many people who moved from Asia, I don't have a problem with pollen

Come autumn, I know where I can pick apples!!
:)

the first bluebells of the season

they were deep in the woods, away from the footpath
and it took us quite a bit of effort to get pictures
it was funny .. because both of us are singaporeans
and we'd never seen bluebells before
but we came to that conclusion by guesstimating.. from the colour and shape of the flowers
haaha

something pretty sprouts from a moss covered log

the reservoir where Loughborough gets its water supply from

The next day, on our way to Nottingham
I took her to Queens Park where flowers were blooming in psychedelic colours
I do think the arrangement is just a bit gawdy
Last year this time, I saw the same flowers in Switzerland
and it was really new to me then

dew drops on a magnolia
:)
I first saw them in Switzerland too
And I had no idea what they were then

steve - not really, thought I'd just explore the "neighbourhood". There're some festivals going on.

Are your nights hectic from working or dating? I saw your posts on KOM's cbox :P
