17 years ago, October 18th was also a Sunday
I took a plane for the first time and left my country for a shiny new island
It didn't quite register at that time.. that i'd be leaving for good

4 years ago, on this same day, i submitted my final thesis

i've never regretted growing older;
time (and our pasts) make us who we are
