it came unexpectedly one night , and shared my bed with me
i slept carefully that night, giving up my reading lamp

over the days, we'd adapted to each other..
.. at dusk, while i cook, it stays on the left side of my bed next to my reading lamp
.. when i'm on my computer, it moves quietly to the dish of the ceiling light
.. in the mornings, i usually wake to find it looking out of the window

just like that, we've kept each other company for 6 weeks
and i've learnt to turn off my ceiliing light early.. before it gets too hot

someone told me once, that in burmese custom, a butterfly is representative of a human soul..
