Growing old

(won't it be great if I was as interested in my publications???)

One hot evening, i stopped in a field beside the cycling track on my way home
i saw 3 flowers, of the same species, but at different stages of their life

and at that instant, I observed..
.. that the colour of the flower got more intense as it aged

Youth isn't always the most beautiful thing in the world, is it?

For the past few days as well.. i have been contemplating the pronounced difference..
.. between the bashfulness of the grad students
the easy manner of the post docs
the complacence of the professors
and the supreme devil-may-care attitude of an emeritus professor...

People watching is a great past time when you're half asleep in a conference
and interleukins and cell markers become too much to bear!!
