Belfast Castle

Pictures taken on the 10th of April

Belfast Castle is somewhat different..
in that it is made of sandstone, and very sound structurally
but it is striated with pink bits
yea..
Tim pointed out that the unusual staircase is a later addition

I'm sure it has a story..
but for now, it seems to be known more for its grounds
and as a popular place for weddings

Mother of the bride??

Rule No. 89th of photographing strangers in their private moments
Always always try to get an unrecognisable picture
ha
I like this shot really.. because the guy was holding his bride's train
and they were moving to a new location for wedding pictures
even from this angle, you can see the smile on their faces

Tim and Elizabeth posed right nearby so I could get this shot
haha
They are so sweetly supportive of my obsession!

The only history I learnt about this castle.. is that the owners had a cat
and that cat was immortalised in stone and erm.. bush
in at least three different locations in the garden

here's one sitting at the garden entrance

another sleeping at the edge of the garden

And another sitting guard over a plot of purple hyacinths

tulips
:)
I always tell myself I should upgrade and stop shooting flowers
but I never can resist

We had tea at the castle cafe and there was a notice board that read:

Castle from the outside
If you squinted, you can just about see the first cat
at the base of the stairs on the left
:)

Yeah...the castle looks a bit unusual with its staircase. The pink pipes and window frames make me think of Barbie's castle :)

Btw..I like the pic of diving seagull in the other post. Well done!!!
