Switzerland: Day 1

(Photos taken with Panasonic DMC-FX01)

i was very very apprehensive
i hadn't prepared my slides, hadn't read the papers..
worse of all, i couldn't read the map (it was all in german)
but look at this:

i think i regularly give people the impression that i'm someone who's never travelled on a plane before

When I arrived in Zürich, i was so afraid of missing my train i actually sat on the platform half hour before..

i needn't have been so worried
the swiss are punctual to a fault..

When i boarded the train, i discovered to my dismay that my seat was occupied by an insolent soldier
and i was exposed as a tourist when i actually bothered to find the seat number
O_o
.. i didn't get my window seat and couldn't take any pics
and then, i arrived in Berne.. and managed to find a cab who would take me to Hotel Isola
a little hole in the wall of a hotel

i only had time to dump my luggage in the room before heading out again
cos i discovered that none of my adaptors worked with the power point
and gasp! i was nowhere near finishing the presentation

the nearest store i went didn't understand when i asked for an adaptor
it was raining..
and i was miserable as I could be; a non-english speaking country that was rainy and cold
:(

A gloomy Hotel Isola from the outside

But i managed to get back to the town center and grab my adaptor
i also found a super market so i stocked up on some cheese, crackers and water
The view from my balcony
