Day 3 - Cruise on River Seine

we had a lonn breakfast (9-1030) cos we were tlaking about work
then, i asked the hotel lady how to buy a 1-day Metro pass in french
she gave me the metro map as well

so i made myself understood and got the pass
but.. i didn't know which platform i should go to
this gentleman approached me.. and when he realised i was lost, he showed me the way
he said he was going the same way.. and i followed him

on the way, he complained about how it sucks to work in paris
:(
i think i have an aunt agony face that the whole world likes to complain to me
aagh!

so i got off at Louvre on line 1
it was such a pretty day.. and the air was so crisp and nice

i assumed Pont Neuf must be by the river Seine (duh!)
so i just started in the direction of Louvre
it looks massive and very impressive

but i decided not to go in first.. i think my bosses will make noise that i didn't

here's the church opposite Louvre

and then.. i saw this huge.. dog being walked by its owner
i know i cut his legs off in the photo but i had to take it quickly
i was quite scared he'd come bite me for taking his photo

the walkway beside river Seine
one of my favourite things about the trip
there were souvenir shops, painters, skaters..

i bought a 'original' painting at a little road side setup
the grandfatherly old man assured me that he'll wrap it up nicely so it wont crinkle
and he tried his best to speak english cos he knew my french sucked

on the other side of the bridge..

using his directions, i got to Pont Neuf

i took more photos cos.. i had a half hour wait before the next cruise

The cruise..
i know how Notre Dame looks like
i know the Eiffel Tower (doesn't look nice at all in daylight; anti-climax)
i know one of the bridges is supposed to be the 'romantic' bridge
but i was lost about the rest of the buildings cos the wind was so strong
and i could hardly hear the guide

i meant to look them up in the map..
but.. well... maybe when i come back from burma

i had lunch at one of the cafes the lines the road along river seine
the lamb chop came with salad and fried and tomato couscous
i liked it a lot :D
again, pple were very friendly..
..tho i'm the only idiot who chose tea over beer for lunch

as i was trying to cross the road to the Metro, i heard a lot of horning
which surprised me cos drivers here seem to have the "no-hard-feelings" attitude
then.. i realised.. someone was getting married!
