Pyin Oo Lwin

Pyin Oo Lwin is called the City of Flowers
There're many gardens selling flowers/seeds/plants etc
But the weather, also is a draw for me
Blue skies at 7 degree celsius!

A typical 'commercial' garden

Flowers by the roadside

The tower that papa helped to design/build
i don't know what it's for
I only took it cos it looks tranquil with the lake and the trees

The Botanic Gardens is pretty bare at this time of the year
Not much flowers, no fruits in the orchards
But the swans look so peaceful

I'd have preferred to take this with a blue sky
but i like the contrast between the yellow tree and the trunk beside it

A horse-drawn carriage.. and this is not for tourism
it is an actual mode of transport in this place

The pagoda on the outskirts of Pyin Oo Lwin
It was built after a Buddha statue being transported to China dropped there, and was impossible to move
It's on a hill.. and has a great view
The architecture looks like a cross between burmese and chinese
In any case, the whole place makes me feel at peace
