Home

Minutes turn into hours
Hours roll into days
And days.. they become memories

I got to this little town just over 2 years ago
and i moved into this house 3 months ago
it was a temporary measure
but it's feeling more and more like home

i occupy the third floor attic room, the warmest room in the house
even as we sometimes get below freezing point

and then, there's the living room where we curl up to watch news and cooking shows
as we pig out on food - either prepared by one of us or the local takeaway
the kitchen which i tend to monopolise
the spiders which provide us (or rather, me!) with many a hilarious episode
the backyard with the apple tree .. which is littered with fallen apples
and needs careful navigation whenever we come home in the dark of the night
i'd never forget the morning when one dropped on my head as i passed under it!

but best of all.. the other three occupants
who've tolerated my absences, the force-feeding i do, and my idiosyncrasies ..
i no longer feel like i'm confined within the four walls
.. like i need to get away and be by myself
i've even given up cycling so that we could walk together every morning

i got up early this morning to pick apples off the backyard
and thought.. this was where I want to be
