Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was.
There is absolute and unbroken continuity.
What is this death but a negligible accident?
"Death is nothing at all" by Henry Scott Holland
i was way too early for my appointment
so i wandered down the main road
i followed a man, in combats and with a small eagle in his hands
he turned into a fenced gate..
and there it was.. the cemetery I've always meant to go to
but never before did
i did, for a few minutes, question the wisdom of being in a cemetery by myself
not because of ghosts.. but because of the overwhelming quiet
but this is loughborough, and i was safe
so tranquility found me, just for those few minutes
as i edged closer to read the poem on a tombstone nearest to me
until i saw the date inscribed
it startled me
.. because those four numbers have been etched into my mind for years
i walked back to the bench ..
and realised that, that same date was inscribed on the bench as well
Ancient Burmese believe in signs
maybe i should too
still..
.. some deaths are easier to handle than others, i guess
