Glasgow City Chambers

Photos taken on the 8th of July

The conference cocktail reception was held at the Glasgow City Chambers
which is all marble floors and grand arches

we were all ferried to the City Chambers in coaches straight from the conference
here we were standing around waiting for the second coach to arrive

the ornate entrance to the building

The interior as seen from the doorway

the way up .. along the walls, there were portraits of big shots
i didnt bother taking pictures of them.. haha

the very opulent staircase

the hall where we had the reception
it was meant to be food and drinks but we couldn't find any food
felt rather cheated actually.. there were drinks galore though
and the male grad students were trying to steal small bottles of wine
-roll eyes-

there was a hilarious moment when one of the guys realised it was 830 and he hadn't checked in to the residence
he almost ended up sleeping on the couch of one of the hosts

The mayor gave a welcome speech about how Glasgow is the place for biomed

the butler in his full uniform - i asked him for a picture and he sweetly obliged me

the ceiling of one of the smaller rooms.. isn't it pretty?

in another room, portraits of important people

a parting glance as we walked towards Queen Station to catch a taxi back

if i remember correctly, i went to bed with an empty stomach that night
