Derwent Valley - Fairholmes Ranger Centre

Pictures taken on the 30th of April

I really wanted to go hiking in the Peak District
But the urbanite in me was too scared to go by myself
I haven't even lived in such a sparsely populated place until I moved here

So I signed up for a free guided walk in the walking festival
my booking ticket said all participants have to obey the Country Code

There was just one bus a day on weekdays from Sheffield to the Derwent Valley
So I planned to rent a car.. and borrow a TomTom from AC
But Jas offered to drive me instead!
haha.. I swear.. I didn't chicken out of driving

We passed by a little eatery by the road side
I took this picture as we were stuck in a traffic jam
isn't it just too cute?

We met at the Fairholmes Visitor Centre
The first thing I noticed about the place was this sign
I thought it really funny

And yes, there wer ducks everywhere
in the carpark, under the trees..
and toddlers were having fun chasing the ducks

as our group set off..
that's jas on the right, in front of me
see how everyone is kitted out properly?
with nordic sticks and gaiters!!
i was the only idiot who wore jeans
-_-
