Torr Head

Pictures taken on the 9th of April

I couldn't quite find any information online on Torr Head
but it's one of the most magnificent places i've ever been
the view is simply breath-taking

And the route itself is amazing
a narrow road full of hair pin turns and sheer drops, right next to the coastline
i didn't even think it possible for two cars to pass each other
Tim said it was called the Widow's road
because many a driver had died driving along it

this was taken through the side window (maybe)

the view as we approach Torr head
it used to be an outpost, if I remember correctly

I climbed the hill (by myself cos Christina is still nursing her foot)
it was a steep climb but my new boots were really comfy
even though they're not proper walking boots

i ran into an Irish family on my way up
and it took me a while to understand that the man was speaking in english to me
he wanted to let his mutt run free
so he was making sure I was alright with it
later, i helped to take a picture of him and his wife
and he took a picture (the only picture) of me which i accidentally deleted in the E65

Tim claims Torr Head has the draftiest toilet in the world
haha.. I can believe him..
because even though it's so run down and the toilet is gone
i was struggling with the wind to stay upright

it was such a quiet place.. it felt like a different world altogether
there must have been less than a dozen people in sight
standing there, on top of the hill, is simply exhilerating

oh.. and i climbed the hill twice
because i discovered that i'd lost the little red pendant bro gave me
:(

in the distance, a farmer and his flock of sheep..

i had more pics in my E65
but it looks like recovery softwares don't work on phone memory
