Leicester

Pictures taken on the 14th of April

Thanks to Lynn, I got to extend my holiday into Thingyan week
Since she had to pass by Leicester, I went down to meet her
We were looking around for hot food, and predictably ended up at Wetherspoons
which was just next to the Market Place

Here's a test shot (overcast sky again)
A statue of John Henry Manners, the Fifth Duke of Rutland
I don't think he's very special.. apart from the fact that he lived in Belvoir Castle
which we didn't visit.. because .. it didn't come up on google
when I was looking for things to do in Leicester

Here's something with a more interesting history, the Haymarket Memorial Clock Tower

We spent the next 2 hours shopping :)
But I avoided the High Cross like the plague
I don't know why.. big shiny shopping centres kill my mood
I hv to psyche myself up for my home trip....
