Winter wonderland

the snow is finally piling up
yeay!!

this is what i woke up to

it used to look like this

doesn't it look like an array of cupcakes??
i'm so hungry today!

i was determined not to let the weather get the better of me
so i trudged through pristine white snow to work
i've never paid so much attention to the road before..
i was just afraid i'd take a misstep and fall into the drain!
(it was actually a fear shared by my two closest colleagues..)
but fresh powdered snow beat wet sleet anyday!

on my way to work, the silence was deafening
it seems only children were out and about
a little girl waved hello at me, no doubt to draw attention to the snowman
she and her brothers were making
two older children dragged plastic trays on the ground
to be used as sledges
of cos they have nothing else to do
the schools were closed!!
their antics made me smile all the way to the office

but soft crunchy snow is meant to be experienced, not photographed
as all of my pictures attest

i couldn't resist when i saw these bikes downstairs on the way home
one of them must be jas's

we were too busy with work today to start a snowfight
but of cos, there's always tomorrow
we might even make a snowman!
