The first frost

I woke up wednesday morning and found a frosty world
it's the first time in over 70 years that UK is this cold at this time of the year
(or so the weatherwoman said; i forget the channel)

it was freezing cold
but i loved looking at the ice crystals on the grass on my way to work
fallen autumn leaves look great frosted
and i had to smile when 2 teenage schoolgirls stomped on a shallow puddle to break the surface ice

i thought the houses looked pretty too
it was like having icing on the roof
