So.. we dragged ourselves out of bed at 530 to catch the 7am train
my friends found out about just how "kiasu" i was when i panicked at 620 that the taxi was not coming
^_^
We spent the next 2 and a half days in Kentwood Hall
the weather was cool and crisp but sunny
i.e. perfect for time out
unfortunately, we spent 80% of the time holed up in a windowless hall, and a small dark room
alternately having seminars or hunched over laptops; i did both at the same time on the second day
and i did anticipate such a situation.. which was why I didn't bother packing my D60
this was the path we took to get to the hotel from the conference hall
it was snatched on the way back to the hotel for lunch
The outdoor area just outside the dining hall
every morning and afternoon, it just made us itch to go outside..
but of course, we didn't get the chance until the last day after the actual competition was over
People actually fish in the lake!
but the F&B manager assured us that our food didn't come from there
isn't this wing beautiful?
but it was a sort of torture chamber for us..
we had our mentor sessions and the actual competition there
what matters tho.. is that we won!
and we are through to the finals.. :))))
one of the cambridge guys said:
"You guys are slick. I wish you weren't, but you were."
It was nice to know
:)
and i've done enough accounting and finance for .. the rest of my life
