Manila :10th to 14th August

the first thing caught my eyes was a public bus converted from a jeep
they're called "Jeepnies".. as in.. "tiny jeeps"
these jeeps were left behind after World War II
and the filipinas turned them into public transport

and Bert, my host tells me:
"They used to be seen as a relfection of the ingenuity of filipinos. 20 years later, it's more of a stagnation"

lolz

so happens that their office is very near a bus terminal..
i had a chance to take the pics with my phone camera
(i really should bring my camera no matter how tight my schedule is going to be)

but i think they're cool
they're apparently all very colourful and some are even considered graffitti art
my hosts promise me that i'll get a scaled model of it
