Day 8/9

it's the latest time i got up today..
ahaha
we met for breakfast at 8am!! that's like a damn novelty
(but then, i stayed up til 2 to call singapore)

then, it was non-stop training/meeting etc..
we were so rushed we only had take-away food for lunch
from a little gourmet shop that sells 'cheap'pre-packed lunches but expensive chocolates and exotic home-made jams

a small pack of plastic-wrapped cocoa dusted choc almonds cost SGD 12
...

anyway....
i took a photo with the girls from marketing
except marie-laure, they're all product managers i.e. engineers
i'm closest to Anne-Virginie; she really looks much better in person
and.. she's a very sweet girl
(p.s. she also did Tissue Engineering!)

We left the office at six for our 1115 flight, anticipating a traffic jam
But our taxi driver drove so fast that we got to the airport at 630
Usually, it takes an hour...

So.. When I tried to take some pics, they had a wind swept effect
Haha

These were taken along Ave Daumesnil where our hotel and offices are

the highway..
it'd have made a nice picture of sunset if we were not speeding
and if i had a better camera (mine didn't seem to like cold weather)

When I checked in, the guy told me I was 4kg overweight
I was expecting it actually
Cos I had a whole stack of papers and my luggage was 18kg in sg

So...
I thought of paying the overweiight and claiming back
But the guy said it's 30 euro per kg..
And he would give me up to 22
I had to take out a chunk of them
Luckily, I saw it coming..
So the papers were all on top
Ha
Olivier would faint if he knew I took out the papers fr the folder he lovingly assembled
i had a hard time zipping my laptop bag
:p

Charles De Gaulle airport is very stark and white

and.. this ad just made me laugh...
(yes, i can understand a bit of written french)
Not all indians are well-mannered, hospitable or vegetarians"

my bad luck didn't end there
I completely forgot that I put my body lotion in the laptop bag
So I was happily declaring that I had no liquid...
Then, they stopped me for a bag check
So mortifying
I volunteered to throw it away..
But I was left off the hook.. I think cos I look too blur to be a suicide bomber And.. There I was wondering why the security guy suddenly turned unfriendly....

When I was walking around at duty free (which has so few shops it's pathetic)
I asked this guy to recommend wine (alvin wants to buy for surgeons)
He said "Xie Xie" cos he thought I'm chinese
When I told him I was Birmannie, he said Aung San Su Kyi
And he wrapped the wine nicely and gave me 3 layers of plastic bags

i slept on and off for 7 hours..
and woke up to incredibly blue skies
the air-stewardess kept makign me close the window :(

ice crystals on my window..

and then.. we were home!!!
